The Wedding Diary: More and more crafts Throwback

26 Feb

As mentioned in The Wedding Diary: So Many Crafts, So Little Time, Maurice and I spent hours creating all the decorations for our wedding. It was time & energy consuming but we still had so much fun! Every little details were so important to us, and so far, we are pleased with how everything turns out and look like!

In western countries, couple would hand-make personalize wedding favor for guest for keep. A token of appreciation / souvenir. In Singapore, if you are hosting a wedding in a hotel, there’s no need for that as the wedding banquet package comes with it. And you get to choose from the range of wedding favor provided by the hotel. However, I insisted to hand craft a personalize sweets grab pack for the guest. It doesn’t hurt to provide some sweet stuffs for your guest as it’s a norm in Singapore to have it’s dinner delayed! Some guests tend to arrive fashionably late which delayed the start of dinner.

These mini paper bags are the simplest way to provide favors for your guest, and there’s many ways you can dress them up to match your deco and theme of wedding! Otherwise, you can make mini cardboard boxes. If you want to get extra crafty, you can add some handmade rosette and a “Thank You” tag!

Seating place card. You know how the guest will eventually forget where they sit after mingling around before the dinner starts. A seating place card will comes in handy to remain them and even find friends that will be seated with them prior to dinner! We just love how to keep our guest comfortable and organized!

Decoration Props: Alphabet Letter. We will have these letters sitting on the reception area, the ang-bao (chinese custom red packets) box, and also at the pre-wedding photo album display table.

Rustic Wedding: Burlap Bunting Banner

17 May

Recently I have been obsessed with Burlap Bunting Banner and I love crafting them, always making a different phrase or experiment with different Jute materials. And right now, one of the most fave rustic wedding trend is to have a burlap banner. Burlap banner is a good way to incorporate handmade, rustic-looking decor into your party. Not forgetting, the burlap banner is versatile for any events. Be it for a wedding, a birthday party, a photo-shoot props or thanksgiving.

So I spent one of my weekend making the oh-so-popular Just Married, Happily Ever After, Love and XOXO Burlap Banner. Still exploring for more lovely phrase, so do buzz me if you have any in mind!

I made this “LOVE” burlap banner for our Pre-Wedding Photo-shoot last March. Each pennant measures 6 inches wide and 7.5 inches tall. Made with extra twine on both ends for easy display.

And we made a lighter cream fabric burlap banner for sale at our Etsy Store. Each pennant measures 5 inches wide and 6 inches tall. There is extra paper string on both ends for easy display.
